Chef’s Secret: Jonnie & Thérèse Boer at De Librije

To be honest, we must say there are a couple of restaurants that we really adore, places that are just so good, that you’re looking forward to your next visit from the minute the previous one has come to an end. And when a restaurant can meet those extremely high expectations, you know it’s simply top-notch. De Librije in Zwolle is definitely such a restaurant. The former women’s prison, has been turned into a culinary temple where it’s impossible to remain indifferent. The place arouses the heart and the senses instantly, what proves that high-end gastronomy is so much more than extremely tasty food. It’s about an overall experience, a journey, an adventure. Hostellerie Le Prieuré Saint-Géry in Beaumont is one of those places where time seems to be fluid. When you’re enjoying yourself it feels like an endless moment of joy, but on the other hand that feeling goes away way too fast. This beautiful place has a lot to offer: a cosy and classic interior, a warm and friendly service and a decent, gastronomic cooking style.

Fleur de Sel by Hungry for More

Gastronomic enjoyment at Fleur de Sel in Kasterlee

Our visit to Fleur de Sel in Kasterlee is the perfect proof that word-of-mouth advertising works best. A series of beautiful dishes on Instagram, a lot of good reviews online and one of our acquaintances Jürgen, who has already been there 30 (!) times already, made us put this address on top of our wish list. The fact that the restaurant turned out to be open on Mondays – which is the standard closing day for most restaurants – encouraged us to make a reservation immediately. Let’s just start off the week with an afternoon of gastronomic enjoyment. Just because we can 🙂
