Trisara – Phuket

Offering ultimate luxury and privacy, Trisara is the most exclusive and magical resort in Phuket. Be amazed and spend your holidays in one of the ocean view pool suites or villas with top-notch service, enjoy the tranquil beaches and gardens or organize a boat cruise and you’re sure to be totally relaxed, revived and satisfied when you leave. But beware, as chances are that you will never want to go home…

Welcome to Trisara, welcome to paradise

Located in the tropical hills of north-western Phuket – only 15 to 20 minutes from Phuket Airport – Trisara Resort is the ultimate hideaway on this beautiful and popular Thai island. In a secluded private cove on the Andaman Sea, inspired by Thai cultural traditions, a stretch of private beach and a tropical garden paradise were created, laying the foundations for the concept of the Trisara Resort.

The property sits within a protected nature preserve of fourteen hectares, that lends itself to extreme privacy and tranquillity. Trisara’s collection of private luxury villas and residences, and elegant dining and spa pavilions reflect the warmth and comfort of the traditional Thai architecture and cultural values. Featuring spacious indoor and outdoor living spaces and private swimming pools, the villas and residences’ interior design is a pleasing mix of exotic natural materials and modern luxury elements. A private beach — reserved exclusively for in-residence guests — extends the length of the resort’s boundary and offers the very best accommodation for sunbathing, water sports, culinary pleasures or beautiful walks on the beach.

Ocean view private pool villas and residences

The domain of Trisara was created with respect to the environment and local traditions. All villas just seem to blend into the tropical garden scenery. Each private pool villa and residence looks to the western horizon, offering gorgeous views of the Andaman Sea’s ethereal aquamarine waters.

We had the opportunity to stay in the Ocean View Pool Junior Suite, wrapped in birds nest ferns and tropical lady palms. Perfect to relax, unwind and lose track of time is the infinity pool, enveloped in a garden canopy with stunning views. You can enjoy your private terrace with daybeds, an outdoor rain shower, a table and chairs and try some of the delicacies from the mini bar or the room service offerings.

Blending traditional Thai design and modern simplicity, the interiors feature luxury furnishings in warm neutral colours. Spacious sleeping areas offer high ceilings and overlook the villa’s private pool, gardens and the wide-open seas. Sumptuous bed linens and a pillow selection guarantee a good night’s sleep. The lounge area with stylish and comfortable sofas provides an ideal perch for reading a book, watching a movie or just stargazing.

The expansive bath area includes separate bathing, toilet and dressing facilities, including a luxurious bathtub with natural, handcrafted amenities, soaps, bath salts and lotions.

As if the setting would not be sufficiently breath-taking in itself, you’re sure to be blown away by the true hospitality and friendly service every guest will experience at Trisara. Fresh fruits, welcome notes and a mini bar might not be new, but the way they manage to present it at Trisara in such an amazing manner is in a different league. You won’t find any bling or overly chic elements at Trisara, but everything you see, feel, hear and experience here exhales top-notch quality and style. This philosophy is reflected in everyone and everything in the resort. It’s in their DNA.

Relax in the JARA Spa

In case you wouldn’t already be totally relaxed by just being in this amazing place – which is almost impossible – you can add something extra to the experience. Under the shade of the Ficus tree and facing the wide open seas, JARA Spa embodies the path to good health, providing solace and vitality for the whole being. JARA means journey, and in our journey to spiritual fulfilment and physical well-being, the Ficus inspires and guides.

JARA Spa’s peaceful, comfortable treatment rooms offer sublime garden and ocean views. Treatments are rooted in ancient Thai healing and are guided by the Five Pillars of Wellness, drawing inspiration from the organic health and vitality of the Ficus tree. The Five Pillars address the body’s root, trunk, leaves, blossoms and spiritual core and, thus, pave the way for enduring serenity and well-being. We had the opportunity to enjoy a Thai thermal massage, that combines traditional and modern techniques with a hot oil and hot stone treatment.

Activities to remember

Children can enjoy the Kid’s Club, with books and games, a creative play zone and a revolving menu of guided craft activities. With or without kids, for adults too there’s of course a lot to experience at Trisara.

Phuket has been blessed with beautiful islands and bays around its coastline and one of the greatest experiences here is to cruise, snorkel and lunch in the calm-water bays and magnificent small islands close by. You can step right from your villa to the cruise via a jetty in Phuket’s west coast located at Trisara’s own private beach. Whether it’s a one-hour snorkel out to the small island directly in front of Trisara, a half day cruise to Phang Nga Bay or a full day trip to the incredible Similan Islands on one of the luxury cruisers, experiencing Phuket by water is something you should definitely include in your trip.

Something we haven’t seen in any other hotel, but a fantastic idea, is a professional inhouse photo and video studio. The team of DDEN curates compelling visuals – in film and still images – to record and preserve the holiday experience and memories of the guests, on site and around Phuket Island.

For those who like a holiday full of physical activities or sports, there’s a fully equipped gym, a dedicated boxing ring where anyone can learn Muay Thai’s manoeuvres, a yoga area where Trisara’s in-house yoga instructor gives private and group sessions, as well as two tennis courts complete with a tennis pro for private on-call lessons.

Between the months of December and April, Trisara offers complimentary non-motorised water sports including snorkelling, sailing, kayaking, windsurfing and stand-up paddleboarding. They also have a sports cruiser available for fishing, private chartering and short snorkelling trips.

Don’t feel like doing much? Along the sand line sits the 45-meter salt water chlorinated lap pool, surrounded by private daybeds, sun lounges, and serviced with a full menu available at all times.

Food at Trisara

Trisara offers a cool mix of casual and fine dining options, where authentic Thai seafood inspired by local ‘mama recipes’ and innovative fusion dishes reflect Phuket’s legacy as a vibrant, multicultural trading port. Arriving at a Trisara table means connecting with the community. The chefs work alongside local farmers and fishermen, finding inspiration from seasonal vegetables, fish and tropical fruit. Naturally-raised poultry, pork and beef are also sourced from the island, directly from growers. Trisara supports small-scale fisherman and encourages partnerships with communities who use sustainable methods, including traditional handmade nets and traps. Pru Jhampa, Trisara’s own organic farm, is an integral source for ingredients and an inspiration as well.

At the casual bistro you can enjoy all kinds of food all day long in a laid-back atmosphere. The cocktail lounge is a great spot to end the day and take in the island’s spellbinding sunsets.

Truly fantastic is the breakfast offering at Trisara. Breakfast can be ordered in your room 24/7, but it’s worthwhile to try the breakfast buffet as well. Juices and smoothies are prepared as you prefer, the Asian breakfast consists of all-time favorites and delicacies and the Western breakfast offers a wide range of cheeses, breads and meats. Still room for dessert? Indulge on pancakes, French toast, pastry and much more.

There are also several private dining options at Trisara, which is hugely appreciated by the guests. You can enjoy breakfast, lunch or a dinner menu within the comfort and privacy of your own villa. There is also a remote private dining area with stunning views on the ocean and the garden, that can be booked for lunch or dinner.

But the highlight of Trisara’s culinary offering is of course PRU, their fine dining restaurant that was recently awarded its first Michelin star. Chef Jim Ophorst and his team serve a Western and International style cuisine, prepared with 100% local Thai and organic ingredients. You can read more about PRU and the Pru Jhampa farm in the dedicated article we have written about the restaurant and chef Jim Ophorst.
